About Artist
Burritt E. Benson III, aka Bucky, is a leap year baby, 1968. Spanked, raised and still living in the small Southeastern town of Lumberton, North Carolina. Burritt received his B.A. in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1992. A year later he married his college princess, Sara Shatterly. He worked at his father's successful construction company from 1992-2004, before attaining his father's blessing to skedaddle off and pursue his art full time.
In 2006, Burritt studied oil painting under Tarleton Blackwell at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, USA. In 2007, he studied digital art under Dr. John Antoine Labadie at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, USA.
From an early age, Burritt was used to being the go to artist for murals, posters, cartoons, t-shirts and even fake ID's that really worked. During college his art succumbed to partying, girls and foosball. After his six year college vacation, he settled in working in the family business and worked on his art when time allowed.
Since stepping down as President of his father's company in 2004 to pursue his art, Burritt has persistently continued to push his drawing, digital art and painting forward. Today, Burritt continues to explore and paint his art by blending his imagination together with line, color and pattern. Color, he says, is his new frontier.
